There are a few reasons for this decision: - Low number of team nominations across most age groups. - As above, the number of players registered and ready to go at this time of year has turned out to be too low. - The clash with the start of the senior clubs season (also this weekend) has caused resources to be stretched too thin. - Concerns about the new DRIBL system being ready to go. - The cup rounds in previous seasons have been a highlight for many teams, and it was felt this cup, with the low amount of entries, could not match the spirit of the cups past.
We will continue to look at options for the incorporation of the cup rounds into the regular season.
Slim pickings for the older boys. NC15, NC17 or nothing!🤦♂️
Where does a 15yo boy go if the club doesn't have an under 15 team in the northern championship or he didn't make the team?
Nick Allen Chris Pickering Just want to add to Jeremy's reply - We hope that the U16 social competition will be a good option for those that miss out on playing NC. We definitely want to keep the older boys playing the sport!
The changes that FT have instigated in the senior division to include NC15 and changing NC16 to NC17 have effectively left a large number of boys aged 15 to 17 without anywhere to play if they do not make their club's NC15 or NC17 team. I am not sure that FT thought about these consequences, or perhaps they simply do not care about the "less skilled" players of this age. The changes have been adopted to feed into the senior ranks, without thinking about keeping the participation rates up for the older boys.
Hi Northern Tasmanian Junior Soccer Association is this for NTJSA rep teams or for each club to comply to? I.e our club sent out notification about a month ago that we would offer a Under 12 and Under 14 girls team. Does this mean if there is only Under 11 and Under 14 that our 12 year old girls (2011) will need to play up or down?
